Créations de Couture

When I starting creating felt birds they were three dimensional, stuffed pieces but I could never make the talons and the beak as precisely as I wanted, using the medium of felt.  A lot of experimentation later, I came up with the idea of drawing the finer features of the bird and sewing the embroidered body directly onto the paper. The final pieces of mixed media wall art are a combination of drawing and embroidery.
